We are one of the oldest villages at Burningman. Founded in 1995 with a population of just 30, we grew quickly to our current size of about 250. We are home to many hard working artists, and our campers create some of the most spectacular large scale art pieces on the playa.
We estimate that the Village has produced a total of over 300 public works of art at Burningman including Flaming Lotus Girls, Illumination Project, Tactile Environments, Flaming Windmills and literally hundreds more.
For 2011, Ill Ville members presented “Tympani Lambada” -by Flaming Lotus Girls, and “Aurora” by Charles Gadeken.
